Welcome to Academia Madrid PLUS! We offer you Spanish courses in the very centre of Spain’s capital.

Our school is located in "Calle Arenal", at the “Plaza de la Opera”, two minutes away from the Puerta del Sol, known as "kilometre 0" of Spain.

The main part of the school is on the top floor and has excellent views. From here you can observe the comings and goings of Madrid life while it still provides the necessary tranquility required for studying.

Our method

In order to learn to speak a language correctly and fluently, the best method is one based on complete communication, and a motivating environment with enough space for conversation where you can express yourself is a further essential ingredient to successful learning.

At Madrid PLUS we use the direct method. Significantly, Spanish is the only language spoken during the classes. Vocabulary and grammar are learned in context with both oral and written exercises provided by the school.

Great emphasis is put on developing the oral abilities of the students. During classes students will have to prepare discussion topics and present themes to be debated in conversation classes.

Our educational material is related to everyday life and all the material studied during the course is interesting and diverse for the students.

With the help of audio and video equipment, songs, periodicals, newspapers and magazines, the social and cultural life of the country will be revealed.

This relaxed environment ensures that our students progress with ease.

We prepare the students for realistic situations using dialogue, interviews, and representative situations, through which the students improve their vocabulary, grammar and understanding of the language.

Our teachers are native Spanish speakers with teaching certificates in Filologia Hispánica. Their knowledge and great experience in teaching guarantees a great learning success.

Spanish courses

We offer 2 different types of courses: Group tuition and Individual tuition.

Courses start every Monday and end Friday; students with previous knowledge may start at any date, only absolute beginners are limited to certain starting dates.

Our groups have a maximum of 10 students per class; each lesson is 45 minutes long. This means that there are plenty of opportunities to participate in class conversations and to know your fellow students better.

On the first course day absolute beginners will immediately start with their course. The rest of the students take a written and oral test and are then placed into their courses according to the result.

Individual tuition

This is the most suitable method to learn Spanish in the least time possible. The content of these lessons is cut out for the students needs. Private classes can also be taken in combination with group courses.

We offer group tuition with a maximum of 10 students per class and 2, 4 and 6 lessons per day.

Group tuition - Holiday course - 2 lessons á 45 minutes per day
This course will give you an insight into the language and culture and still leave enough time to enjoy your holiday.

The Holiday course has to be booked for at least 2 weeks.

Group tuition - Standard course - 4 lessons á 45 minutes per day
This is the best compromise between learning and free time. 4 lessons daily guarantee effective learning, while the afternoon remains free for leisure activities.

The standard course has to be booked for at least 2 weeks.

Group tuition - Intensive course - 6 lessons á 45 minutes per day
If you want to learn more intensively and in depth, an intensive course is your best option. This course is based upon a standard course. The two last lessons of the intensive course put special emphasis on developing oral skills, e.g. by discussing social-cultural topics.

D.E.L.E.

The D.E.L.E. examinations (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language) are the official diplomas of Spanish as a foreign language as recognized by the Spanish minister of Education and by the Institute of Cervantes in corporation with the University of Salamanca. This certificate is recognized and accredited internationally.

As a member of the A.E.E.E.M. (Asociación de Escuelas de Español de Madrid) and F.E.D.E.L.E. (Federacion Nacional de escuelas de espanol como lengua extranjera), Academia Madrid PLUS is capable of preparing students for these examinations. Teachers working at the school must be members of D.E.L.E.. Every year we have a pass rate of 95%.

The examinations for D.E.L.E. have three levels:

INITIAL CERTIFICATE
Equivalent to intermediate level. The student is required to know present, past and future tenses.

BASIC DIPLOMA
Equivalent to advanced level. In addition to the above, these exams include the subjunctive tenses.

SUPERIOR DIPLOMA
Equivalent to superior level. This exam aims at persons with a very high level of Spanish.

The exams are held every year in May and November.
